If the answer to the above is “Yes!”, then we would like you to read on - we are hiring for a brand-new position as a Legal Advisor in the Casualty Reinsurance team! This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and from our London Office.

What the day will look like
Working alongside the Casualty Reinsurance Broking team you will be an integral part of our client growth and retention strategy through demonstrating expertise in the legal field. The role is split into two main areas, utilising your legal background to review and enhance existing contract wordings and to drive improved client service through research-led advisory to our existing and new clients on topics that impact their business. A typical day could involve:
- Keeping up to date on the latest litigation trends, legal landscape, contract law, landmark cases and hot topics impacting the Casualty Insurance and Reinsurance business.
- Liaising with Casualty Reinsurance brokers and the wider Aon network to understand challenges facing our clients to prepare areas of research.
- Preparing briefing notes and presentations to deliver externally to clients on identified focus areas.
- Liaising and debating in structured sessions with our clients on the possible impact and potential solutions to contract wording challenges and identified focus topics.
- Reviewing existing Contract wordings and advising the Casualty Reinsurance Broking team on how to ensure these are legally sound.
- Conducting reviews of Contract Wordings as part of the sales process for prospective clients.

This is a unique role that is a new and exciting venture by the Casualty Reinsurance Broking team to differentiate from competitors. Typical roles in this space focus solely on Contract wordings, however, this opportunity has a greater focus on how your legal background can assist with client retention and new client prospecting. You will work closely with the senior leaders of the Casualty Reinsurance Broking team with an opportunity to develop this role into a broader team covering multiple lines of business.
Skills and experience that will lead to success
Success in this role will be found with someone with a strong interest in the legal profession and the insurance landscape. The role requires entrepreneurialism and a willingness to drive this role forward from an idea into a successful value-add to the Aon clients. We are looking for someone with experience in Contract wordings and ideally elements of this experience to be in the Insurance or Reinsurance sector. A successful candidate will therefore have:
- 3-5 Years experience in Contract wording drafting ideally in the Insurance or Reinsurance Sector.
- Strong research capabilities underpinned by entrepreneurialism.
- Ability to translate research into clear and compelling briefing notes and presentations.
- Confidence to present and debate key legal topics to senior leaders at our clients.
