The CollegeCroydon College is a vibrant, ambitious education and skills provider with a broad Further and Higher Education offer, committed to transforming lives, enhancing opportunities and contributing to economic prosperity in Croydon and its surrounding areas. Formed by a merger of Croydon College and Coulsdon Sixth Form College in 2019, we have been on a remarkable journey of transformation and growth in the last few years, culminating in our recent Good Ofsted grade. An impactful anchor institution, the college contributes significantly to the success and regeneration of Croydon, which is London's largest borough and home to a thriving business community.
Our finances are currently in a very good position; we are delivering a surplus this year, with significant reserves and opportunities to invest. Our financial strength looks set to continue, with further opportunities for growth and development, while our two campuses have recently undergone refurbishment and benefit from modern learning facilities. The college is a rewarding place to work with a collaborative, inclusive culture and staff who are passionate and committed.
The Role Following the internal promotion of our current postholder, we are seeking an aspirational leader for cross-college Quality and Teaching and Learning, with a focus on ensuring that all learners and apprentices receive the best educational experience and develop the skills required for their next steps in life. Leading a strong, professional Quality Team and supporting the development of teaching staff across both campuses, the Executive Director will support high performance and ensure good practice is shared. The postholder will develop and implement teaching and learning and quality strategies college-wide to drive continuous improvement.
As this role reports directly to the Principal and CEO and works as a key member of the college executive team, it has a high level of influence and impact. There are plenty of opportunities to engage in external CPD, as well as having internal support for career progression.
The Individual Our successful candidate will have a full teaching qualification, along with a robust track record in quality leadership within the FE sector. A strong practitioner with successful experience as a teacher and manager, they will have led high quality teaching and delivered impactful quality improvement strategies. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about education, inclusion and transforming lives through learning, and who will bring a passion for securing the best outcomes for students and an ethos that is in line with our FREDIE principles (Fairness, Respect, Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Engagement).
