The college is partway through a £60 million redevelopment of the main campus, opening the initial building in April 2026 and completing the new estate in August 2027. This new environment will provide leading-edge facilities and a strong community learning destination.
The Director of SEND and Inclusive Learning will play a pivotal role in expanding the college’s SEND provision beyond its modest current base, establishing a broad, impactful offer and creating a high-quality learning environment within the new estate. Working closely with curriculum and support teams, you will drive excellence in SEND discrete foundation programmes and support for learners on mainstream provision, while championing inclusion and inclusive learning support across the college. As a key member of the leadership team, the role will influence both strategically and operationally across its remit.
Responsibilities:- Lead the development and delivery of SEND discrete foundation programmes and support for learners on mainstream provision.
- Champion inclusion and inclusive learning support across the college.
- Collaborate with curriculum and support teams to translate government and local SEND initiatives into practice.
- Influence the college’s strategic direction and operational decisions as a senior leadership team member.
- In-depth experience in SEND and/or ALS provision.
- Sound knowledge of government and local initiatives relating to SEND and their translation into practice.
- Understanding of funding in relevant SEND areas.
- Inspirational and collaborative leader with a commitment to building strong links with internal and external stakeholders.
- Absolute commitment to student success.
