Stanmore College is passionate about being a successful, impactful Community College, a vital institution at the heart of Stanmore. A leading provider of education and skills training, with a broad range of full-time education for 16-18 young learners and part-time courses for adult students, we proactively work with local partners while also being keen to play a key role in the wider London landscape.
It's an extremely exciting time to join us, as we are part way through a £60 million redevelopment of our main campus, with our initial building due to open April 2026 and the whole new campus will be completed in August 2027 which will provide leading edge facilities and cement our position as a first-choice destination. Our initial building, due to open at Easter, will include a fantastic independent living suite and ample opportunity to customise a welcoming, supportive and inclusive environment.
We are committed to growing and developing our discrete SEND from its currently modest base, and so that we can have wider impact, while ensuring the best possible opportunities for our students. The recently created Director of SEND and Inclusive Learning role will be pivotal in this growth and development and will have an almost unique opportunity to develop a broad, impactful offer and create a superb learning environment within our new estate.
Working closely with curriculum and support teams you will drive excellence in SEND discrete foundation programmes and support for learners on mainstream provision, while championing inclusion and inclusive learning support across the college. As a key player within our leadership team, the new post holder will have a broad sphere of influence both strategically and operationally across their remits.
Our successful candidate will have in-depth experience in SEND and/or ALS provision, with sound knowledge of government and local initiatives relating to SEND and how these translate into practice, as well as a sound understanding of funding in relevant areas. An inspirational leader, you should bring a collaborative approach to building strong links with internal and external stakeholders, along with an absolute commitment to student success.
