AOC Archaeology is looking to appoint Project Officers & Project Supervisors to join our London and South team. We can offer start dates from July through to September. Later dates will be considered for the right candidate. Depending on attitude and experience, we can offer either permanent or fixed-term contracts. Salary will be offered in line with experience and skill set.

Successful candidates will take responsibility for the day-to-day delivery of archaeological fieldwork and help maintain the highest professional standards.

Responsibilities May Include:

  • Supervising archaeological teams in the field
  • Planning fieldwork and coordinating teams
  • Supporting project delivery against programme requirements
  • Contributing to reporting and post-excavation work where required
  • Contributing to and maintaining high standards of staff well-being and Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental assurances

Deliverables Role:

  • Undertake Watching Briefs
  • Produce WSIs, RAMS, grey literature reports
  • Assist project managers with daily client reports and other project deliverables

The London and South office is extremely busy with a range of projects, including infrastructure projects, evals, and watching briefs within the M25, as well as linear schemes, trial trenching, mitigation, and watching briefs in surrounding counties. The range of archaeological activity on these sites is vast, including Neolithic, Iron Age, Roman, medieval and post-medieval periods.

The Team is also undergoing a period of renewal and expansion, with a new Head of Fieldwork and new Project Managers. It is an exciting time to join us as we look to build a stable team for the long-term expansion in the region.
