AOC Archaeology is expanding its Leeds office and is seeking Geophysical Survey Supervisors and Site Assistants to support its growth and development. These positions are ideal for individuals who wish to pursue a career in archaeological prospection and work across all disciplines of archaeology, including consultancy, geophysics, geo‑archaeology, landscape and building survey, geomatics, excavation, post‑excavation, and archiving.
Roles are predominantly field‑based, focusing on the collection of magnetometry, earth resistance, and ground‑penetrating radar data, as well as data captured via drone deployment. Successful candidates will be supported to develop office skills such as Word, ArcGIS, and data‑processing tools to enable career progression.
Salary Range
- Supervisor: £29,208 – £30,472 (depending on experience)
- Site Archaeologist: £27,207 – £28,292 (depending on experience)
Expectations
- A willingness to carry out prolonged exertion in an outdoor environment.
- A practical demeanour and an ability to troubleshoot in the field are essential.
- Demonstrable experience and knowledge of survey instruments.
- Good communication skills.
- An ability to assist and support managers and other team members in their tasks.
- A manual UK driving licence is required for those applying for a supervisory role, or evidence that this is being undertaken.
