The predicted salary is between 24000 - 29000 ÂŁ per year.
Based in our Edinburgh office you will support the post excavation project managers and project officers in the delivery of the post excavation processing requirements for a range of diverse programmes from across Scotland and the north of England. You will undertake sample processing of bulk sediment samples and will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision of the site assistants in the post excavation processing team. Your role will require adherence to inâhouse and CIfA standards for post excavation. You will ensure compliance with project budgets and timescales for project deliverables for the processing programmes.
Your primary role will be supervising the processing team, while AOC will encourage and support your ongoing professional development in your chosen specialism, as opportunities arise on active work programmes and timescales permit.

We are seeking candidates with an interest and basic skills in a post excavation specialism, and experience in sample processing, to work in this growing department and to be part of the vibrant post excavation team shaping the future direction of our services in a range of exciting and rewarding programmes.

- A positive and enthusiastic professional with a passion for interpreting the past through analysis of material remains
- Degree level qualification/s in a relevant heritage discipline
- Demonstrable skills in sample processing across a range of sediment types
- Interest and foundation skills in a post excavation specialism (environmental or artefact)
- Technical reporting skills
- Knowledge in the archaeology of Scotland
- Good people skills with the ability to uplift and inspire teams
- Drive, initiative, positivity and a methodical working approach
