Job Description: Lecturer - Bricklaying

Job Type: You will join us on a part time basis (29.6 hours) and in return you will receive a competitive salary of between FT £29,662 – £43,662 actual salary £23,729 - £34,929 per annum

Job Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality education in bricklaying techniques to students at various skill levels.
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans and curriculum designed to meet the educational needs of students.
  • Assess and evaluate student performance through practical assessments, projects, and exams.
  • Provide constructive feedback and support to students to enhance their learning experience and ensure skill development.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, trends, and practices in bricklaying and construction.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and industry professionals to develop partnerships and enhance course offerings.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and college events as required.
  • Support student recruitment and retention efforts through outreach and engagement activities.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Proven qualifications in bricklaying or a related field, ideally a minimum of Level 3 NVQ in Bricklaying.
  • Teaching qualification, such as a PGCE or equivalent, is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of education theory and practice, particularly in vocational training settings.

Desired Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working in the bricklaying industry, showcasing a strong portfolio of skills.
  • Prior teaching or training experience, particularly in a further education context, will be advantageous.
  • Experience in curriculum development and classroom management is a plus.

Salary & Benefits:

Salary: £28,385 - £41,782 per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
