Job Overview
About The Role
We’re on the lookout for a commercially savvy Category Buyer to take the reins of a key branded product range. You’ll be the go-to person for planning, sourcing, and managing products that our customers love—keeping one eye on the market and the other on the competition. It’s a hands-on role where you’ll work closely with suppliers and teams across the business to make sure we’re always one step ahead.
You’ll also play a big part in developing an Assistant Buyer, helping them grow while keeping the day-to-day running like clockwork. If you’re someone who thrives on variety, loves a challenge, and knows how to spot a great deal, this could be the perfect fit.
Our people are our superpower, and we’re unstoppable when we’re together! We want your ideas to flow, and what better way to make that happen than being based onsite, 5 days a week, where our culture fuels creativity, collaboration and growth. If a £1 bet in the pub between two friends can become the UKs most trusted electrical retailer, imagine what else can be achieved when we we’re together!
Here\’s What You Can Expect To Be Doing
- Own and grow your category—driving sales and profitability through smart pricing, product selection, and promotional planning
- Build strong relationships with suppliers, negotiate, and secure the best deals and support
- Keep your finger on the pulse of market trends and competitor activity to make sure we’re always ahead of the game
- Plan and deliver promotional campaigns that excite customers and boost performance
- Use data to track performance, spot opportunities, and influence decisions across the business
- Manage stock levels and aged inventory to keep availability high and waste low
- Work cross-functionally to align on strategy and lead the development of your Assistant Buyer
A Few Things About You
- You\’ll bring a sharp commercial mindset and a solid track record in buying or category management.
- Building strong supplier relationships and negotiating great deals comes naturally to you.
- You\’ll confidently use data to make smart, informed decisions.
- Communicating clearly and influencing others at all levels is one of your strengths.
- You\’ll lead with authenticity, stay calm under pressure, and support others through change.
- Always curious and proactive, you\’re constantly looking for ways to improve and grow.
A Bit About Us
