Overview
We’re on the lookout for a hands-on Maintenance Engineer who’s got the skills, the smarts, and the sleeves ready to roll up. You’ll be the friendly face behind the scenes, making sure everything’s safe, smooth, and looking sharp. From boilers to bulbs, planned maintenance to unexpected fixes, you’ll keep our AO building in tip-top shape so our AOers can do what they do best. If you love solving problems, keeping things running like clockwork, and being the person everyone’s glad to see when something goes wrong—we want to hear from you. We believe our people are our superpower. That’s why we’re all in, together, five days a week onsite—because creativity, collaboration, and growth thrive when we’re face-to-face. If a £1 bet in a pub between two mates can become the UK’s most trusted electrical retailer, just imagine what we can do next.
Responsibilities
- You’ll make sure all our services and amenities are always up and running, helping the office stay comfortable, functional, and ready for action
- Tackling the everyday fixes – from squeaky doors to mystery leaks, you’ll handle general maintenance tasks with care. Whether it’s a quick touch-up or a full refresh, you’ll help keep our spaces looking smart and well-maintained.
- You’ll carry out daily PPMs (Pre-Planned Maintenance) walkthroughs, spotting anything that needs attention and making sure repairs are completed on time. You’ll be the eyes and ears of the building.
- Keeping our building equipment in great shape—checking air conditioning systems, testing fire alarms, inspecting extinguishers, and making sure everything’s safe, reliable, and working as it should.
Qualifications
- You’ll be problem solver, proactive and make smart and practical decisions
- You’ll care about the spaces you look after and take pride in keeping them in great shape
- You’ve got a flexible, can-do attitude and don’t mind rolling up your sleeves when needed
- Have experience in both reactive and planned maintenance (PPM) in an office environment
- A full UK driving licence (you’ll be on the move now and then)
- IOSH Managing Safely (a bonus, but not essential)
- Basic computer skills – enough to log jobs, complete reports, and keep things updated
