We have an exciting opportunity for an Enterprise Apps Analyst to join our IT Support Team, based in the A&O Shearman Belfast office. You will be part of the local 3rd line IT support team supporting the firms Enterprise Applications. We are here to support a wide range of critical applications used by our 7000+ users. Our team provides 24x7 support for these applications and is located across 3 time zones, Belfast, Americas and APAC. The team is part of IT Infrastructure & Operations (I&O) which operates all applications and infrastructure for the firm. I&O is part of Technology Services, which provides world-class IT support and services to the firm.

What you will do:

  • Support the firm's finance and business intake systems as well as customer relationship management systems, time capture and other business critical applications.
  • Analyse the system and application problems, risks and enhancements and report to management.
  • Responsible for managing, monitoring call queue of team with focus on customer service and implementing change to application infrastructure and to processes within team and wider department.
  • Work alongside vendors/stakeholders in service reviews to improve service resilience by analysing approach to implementation and eliminate risk and downtime to end users.
  • Action and remediate application and server security vulnerabilities for all supported infrastructure.
  • Recommend and suggest service resilience improvements and enhancements through analysis and testing reviews.
  • Alert, monitor and report on regular and irregularities of application and database infrastructure, MS-SQL and SQL replication on daily basis.
  • Troubleshoot and monitor end-to-end application and SQL infrastructure hosted in Azure AVS, Azure native and SaaS/cloud hosted products.
  • Document, communicate and share changes and technical data with team and wider IT department changes, represent these on Change Advisory Board and Release Management.
  • Coordinate and install of windows and application patches and updates during monthly/quarterly cycles and releases including package, configure, test, and deploy to the firm as part of security processes.
  • Collaborate with other service support teams in I&O, including End-User Compute, Systems, Networks and Information Security, as well as customer relations who interact with our supported applications.
  • Provide proven technical expertise on projects and by management when required.
  • Join in weekly on call rota and out of hours support for business-critical applications.

What you will have:

  • Provide 3rd support to manage day to day investigations, incidents, changes and problems for business software applications.
  • Implementation experience and in supporting, maintaining on Windows Server / Linux operating systems.
  • Experience in creating, maintaining, monitoring and alerting Microsoft SQL server databases and SQL replication and Always On A/G configuration.
  • Ability to create, execute and maintain SQL scripts and reporting.
  • Comfortable working with mixture of cloud native and on premises datacentre server and services to Azure AVS and Native (SQL).
  • Understanding of SaaS products and websites languages (HTML/CSS).
  • Analytics and planning SQL and application updates through changes and releases processes.
  • Ability to develop and create technical documentation skills for team members for all levels.
  • Scripting automation through use of various scripting languages (PowerShell/Bash/SQL).
  • Aptitude in identifying service and performance gaps, recommending solutions for service improvements.
  • Proven track record in providing technical expertise and assisting in projects focusing on SQL databases and business critical applications.
  • Analyse of monitoring alerting configuration for SQL databases and application services to improving performance.
  • Strong reasoning and decision-making skills to provide alternative solutions when required.
  • Ability and enthusiasm to troubleshoot, problem solve in fast-paced environment.

Desirable Skills:

  • System and application operational experience in Legal and CRM firm within a global capacity.
  • Support and knowledge of Power Platform and Dynamics365 platform.
  • Experience in Data Analysis and reporting.
  • A comprehensive understanding of Site Reliability Engineering concepts, principles and framework.
