We have an exciting opportunity for an IT Apprentice to join our growing IT team, based in A&O Shearman's Belfast office!
We would like to invite applications for the ICT Apprenticeship Programme. Successful applicants will be employed by A&O Shearman and receive on-the-job training from Belfast Met. Apprentices will be employed in various infrastructure or software development roles with the firm. We will invest in training to help apprentices gain Level 3 IT Apprenticeship in Networking Infrastructure. This apprenticeship course will cover units in the following areas: computer networks, cyber security, fundamentals of IT, computer systems – hardware and software and IT technical support.
What you will do
You will spend time with the IT Global Service Desk Team providing first-line support on an array of software and hardware technologies. You will receive regular training and mentoring as you navigate through the different support scenarios that our IT professionals manage. You will get to know our customer base and quickly see the value that your support brings to the firm. You will also have the opportunity to work with our IT Deskside team where you will get hands-on experience with our IT infrastructure, learn a multitude of skills that ensure our customer base have the tools and local support needed to carry out their duties.
Who we are looking for
Previous experience is not required; we are looking for candidates with an interest in pursuing a role in the ICT sector. 5 GCSEs at grade C or above, including English and Mathematics. AS or A-Level or equivalent Level 3 qualifications (applicants who have previously completed the Level 3 Networking Infrastructure apprenticeship or course at Belfast Met will not be eligible for funding).
