Overview
Balancing supply and demand is like spinning plates. As a Demand Planner within a busy category, you’ll work with suppliers to ensure we have the right amount of stock and support the AO Supply Chain journey as we move from good to great, to awesome. You’ll manage a category while building and maintaining strong internal and external relationships to improve availability and enhance the customer journey. You’ll develop your skills with our internal systems and gain knowledge of Supply Chain, with opportunities for progression in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. We work together in the office Monday to Friday.
What You Can Expect To Be Doing
- Work with the buyer and our suppliers to forecast the product range.
- Adapt plans when changes occur (e.g., delays in shipments or supplier production hiccups).
- Handle transitioning our range smoothly from old to new lineups.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Data maintenance in Relex (forecasting and replenishment system).
- Achieve KPI targets, ensure forecasts are accurate, keep products available, and minimize excess stock.
- Monitor sales forecasts, budgets, and business strategies.
Location and Working Pattern
The role is based at our office in Horwich, five days a week.
Qualifications and Skills
- Previous experience as a Demand Planner or Merchandiser (desirable).
- Good communication skills; ability to align teams and goals.
- Comfort with data and numbers; proficient in Excel.
- Ability to juggle multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
