Our commercial team is at the heart of AO’s retail operations. By turning data into insights, we support decisions on range, pricing, promotions and more, helping make AO the UK’s leading electrical retailer. As a Graduate Commercial Analyst you will go beyond number‑crunching – you’ll use data to tell a story, shape business strategy and see the direct impact of your work. Starting salary is £29,000, with the possibility of progressing to a Senior Analyst role (earning over £40,000) within 36 months through our graduate development pathway and CIMA‑supported learning. The role is based onsite, 5 days a week, in a collaborative environment that encourages creativity and growth.

Responsibilities

  • Analyse a broad range of data to drive commercial decisions across the business, including sales, margin benefits and cost efficiencies.
  • Work closely with trading teams to provide insight on sales drivers, profitability, pricing and product range.
  • Influence the performance of our customer proposition, ensuring our services and delivery are best‑in‑class.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with colleagues across AO, up to senior levels.
  • Lead the development of visualisation tools and reports that the entire team can use.
  • Study towards your CIMA qualification and apply learnings in your day‑to‑day role, supported by a structured training plan.
  • Gain exposure to AO’s P&L and see how the insights you provide impact a multi‑billion‑pound business.

Qualifications

  • Relevant, numerical degree with a minimum 2:1 result.
  • Strong analytical capability and experience using Excel.
  • Ability to translate data into clear, engaging stories for a range of audiences.
  • Excellent relationship‑building and collaboration skills.
