Teaching Assistant (BSL Level 3) – Greenwich, London
Are you a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant with BSL Level 3? Do you have a passion for supporting children with additional needs to achieve their potential? ANZUK Education is seeking a skilled Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a deaf child with cerebral palsy in a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Greenwich, South East London.
Overview
You will be working closely with one child, providing tailored communication and learning support. Your role will be to enable access to the curriculum, foster independence, and ensure the child is fully included in all aspects of school life. This position is long-term and full-time, offering a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference every day.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing 1:1 support for a deaf child with cerebral palsy
- Using British Sign Language (Level 3) to communicate effectively
- Supporting access to learning and adapting activities where needed
- Assisting with personal care and mobility as required
- Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff
- Promoting inclusion and fostering a nurturing, safe environment
Requirements
- BSL Level 3 qualification (essential)
- Experience supporting children with hearing impairments and/or physical disabilities
- A compassionate, patient, and proactive approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
- Right to work in the UK
