anzuk Education is currently seeking SEN Primary Teaching Assistants to become part of our team in South West London.

SEN Teaching Assistant Job Description:

  • Providing specialist support to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • Supporting the student with speech and language, attention and listening skills, and emotional regulation
  • Use different strategies for supporting children with ASD e.g. visual supports, emotional regulation etc.
  • Collaborate with the class teacher to support the learning and development of the student
  • Assist in the preparation of learning materials, classroom activities and resources
  • Encourage active participation and engagement in lessons

The Ideal SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Relevant experience working with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), primarily Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in an educational setting
  • Relevant Key Stage 2 classroom experience (either mainstream or specialist setting)
  • Be familiar with strategies to support children with ASD e.g. visual supports, emotional regulation etc.
  • Be able to demonstrate patience and empathy when working with children, especially those with special educational needs
  • The ability to work as part of a team and follow guidance from classroom teachers and senior leaders
  • Must hold a clear Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate
  • Certification in first aid and CPR (preferred but not required)
