A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Payroll & Administrative Officer to join the central team of a Multi-Academy Trust based in Newham. This is a long-term temporary position with an immediate start, providing essential payroll and administrative support to the Trust's operations.

The successful candidate must have prior payroll experience, with a sound understanding of payroll processing procedures, statutory deductions, and payroll systems. This is a varied and busy role requiring excellent attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Key Responsibilities:
  • End-to-end processing of monthly payroll for staff across multiple academies.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and staff data.
  • Calculate statutory payments (e.g., SSP, SMP, SPP) and deductions.
  • Liaise with external payroll providers and resolve payroll queries promptly.
  • Support wider administrative duties as required by the central office team.
  • Ensure GDPR compliance in the handling of sensitive data.
Person Specification:Essential:
  • Proven, hands-on payroll processing experience (minimum 1 year).
  • Strong understanding of UK payroll legislation and statutory obligations.
  • Excellent administrative, organisational, and time-management skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel).
Desirable:
