Assistant General Manager

We are looking for an experienced Assistant General Manager needed for the opening of a flagship next generation new Central Hertfordshire gym

Anytime Fitness is one of the world\’s fastest-growing fitness brands, with over 5,000 clubs globally and 180+ in the UK. We\’re looking for an experienced, hands-on and motivated Assistant General Manager to support leading a new club in Central Hertfordshire, opening in Winter 2025. This is a chance to join a successful franchisee already operating top UK clubs and with further openings planned in 2026. The new site will be a flagship for the brand, the first in an updated club design and with brand first equipment and features. It promises to be a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate to support in building and leading a new team from presale through to delivering as one of the top clubs in the country. This is a rare opportunity to be part of an exciting new project from the outset

As Assistant General Manager, you\’ll be key in delivering the club\’s sales, operations, member experience, and team development. You\’ll create a welcoming culture where everyone feels at home and can achieve their fitness goals whilst ensuring operationally, the club maintains health and safety standards, audit compliance and looks (and smells) great

Key Responsibilities:

• Run the day-to-day operations of the club, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and passing head office audits.
• Create a positive, welcoming culture where members are motivated to achieve their goals.
• Drive sales in a performance-driven environment.
• Develop and implement marketing strategies (social media, local events, corporate partnerships) to bring in new members and retain them.
• Build strong relationships with local businesses and corporate partners to drive membership growth and community engagement.
• Monitor and adapt to local competition, keeping your club ahead of the curve.
