AF Coach / Self-Employed Personal Trainer – Newly Opened Club

  • Anytime Fitness Hackney Downs
  • Salary: £35,000 – £75,000

About Us

We’re excited to announce the opening of our brand-new Anytime Fitness club in Hackney Downs. With a strong launch and rapid membership growth already underway, this is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate and driven fitness professional to join us from the very beginning.

At Anytime Fitness Hackney Downs, our members are at the heart of everything we do. Personal Training and coaching are central to our mission of helping people achieve their goals, feel confident, and stay committed in the long term. With a large and growing member base, you’ll step into a thriving environment where building a successful business is not just possible – it’s expected.

About the Role

We’re looking for an AF Coach – essentially a Personal Trainer who will work with us part-time while developing their own client base. This role is designed as a clear progression pathway: starting as an AF Coach on a fixed number of club hours per week, and naturally transitioning into a fully self-employed Personal Trainer paying rent once your PT business is established.

  • AF Coach commitment: 12.5 hours per week supporting the club.
  • Focus: Run small group classes, deliver gym inductions, and engage with members – with the primary aim of converting these interactions into Personal Training clients.
  • Progression: As your PT client base grows, you’ll have the opportunity to reduce your AF Coach hours and transition to a full rent-paying PT role (typically within 3–4 months).

This model gives you the best of both worlds – a steady introduction to our community and a strong pipeline of leads, while keeping 100% of the income you earn from Personal Training sessions.

Main Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging small group classes and gym inductions (part of AF Coach hours).
  • Build strong relationships with members to convert interactions into PT clients.
  • Provide tailored 1-to-1 Personal Training sessions focused on client results.
  • Support retention by ensuring members feel welcomed, motivated, and supported.
  • Represent the club with professionalism, positivity, and energy.
  • Work closely with the club team to grow your PT business.

About You

We’re looking for someone passionate about fitness, results-driven, and excited by the opportunity to build their own thriving PT business.

  • REPS/CIMSPA Level 3 (or equivalent) Personal Trainer qualification.
  • Valid public liability insurance.
  • Previous experience delivering PT and/or group sessions.
  • Confident in building rapport and converting leads.
  • Entrepreneurial, proactive, and committed to your own success.
  • Energetic, approachable, and professional.
  • Social media savvy and confident in self-promotion.

What We Offer

  • A brand-new, fully equipped Anytime Fitness club – with high early membership numbers and growing fast.
  • 12 to 15 hours per week as an AF Coach – giving you guaranteed exposure to members.
  • A fast-growing membership base with high engagement – giving you regular opportunities to convert members into paying PT clients.
  • First month rent free, second month at 50% rent. 100% of your PT income – you keep what you earn.
  • Progression to full self-employment as your business grows (typically month 3–4).
  • A fair, fixed rent model with no hidden fees.
  • Complimentary gym membership for your own training.
  • A collaborative, supportive environment – we’ll work with you on marketing, referrals, and growing your client base.
  • Regular visibility through class delivery and inductions, helping you secure PT clients faster.

Next Steps

If you’re ambitious, passionate about fitness, and ready to build a thriving PT business in a brand-new, fast-growing club, we’d love to hear from you.
