The Role

As Digital Director, you will be a senior leader within the agency’s Craft team, responsible for shaping our digital capability, leading high value client relationships and contributing directly to the agency’s commercial growth. This role goes beyond delivery. You will play a critical role in defining our digital vision, evolving our proposition, and representing the agency in senior client and new business environments. You will lead teams, influence strategy, and help ensure digital is a core driver of agency growth.
What You’ll Do
- Digital Leadership & Client Delivery
- Act as the senior digital lead across a portfolio of priority, tier‑one clients
- Own digital performance across paid search, paid social and programmatic, ensuring best‑in‑class planning, buying and optimisation
- Lead and mentor teams of specialists, setting clear standards and expectations
- Partner closely with Client Planning, Creative and Technology teams to solve complex client challenges
- Ensure digital activity consistently delivers against client business objectives
- Strategy, Innovation & Automation
- Lead digital strategy and contribute to broader media and communications planning
- Champion innovation, automation and smarter ways of working across the department
- Collaborate with the Technology team to identify opportunities for tooling, automation and process improvement
- Help shape future digital products and capabilities that differentiate the agency
- Growth, Pitching & New Business
- Play a strategic role in new business growth, positioning digital as a core driver of agency success
- Act as a senior digital voice in pitch environments, shaping strategy, responding to briefs and presenting compelling digital narratives
- Translate complex digital capability into clear, commercially compelling propositions
- Contribute to the evolution of the agency’s digital offering to ensure it remains competitive, distinctive and pitch‑ready
- Support leadership in identifying growth opportunities across existing and prospective clients
- Thought Leadership & Capability Building
- Provide digital thought leadership internally, with clients and externally
- Support training and capability development across the agency
- Maintain a relentless focus on self development and raising standards
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with the Head of Media to evolve the agency’s digital offering across Paid Search, Paid Social and Programmatic
- Own senior client relationships alongside Client Planning, acting as a trusted advisor
- Lead digital media planning and buying, including RFP development, evaluation and investment recommendations
- Ensure campaigns are delivered on time, on budget and to the highest quality standards
- Turn data, research and insight into clear optimisation recommendations and strategic direction
- Proactively contribute new ideas, POVs and innovation across clients and new business
Skills & Experience
- 5+ years’ experience in digital and paid media, with deep expertise across Paid Search, Paid Social and Programmatic
- Proven experience leading high‑value, performance‑driven client accounts, ideally including ecommerce
- Strong people leadership experience, managing and developing specialist teams
- Demonstrated experience contributing to, or leading, successful new business pitches
- Commercially minded, with confidence linking digital investment to business outcomes
- Highly confident presenter, able to communicate complex ideas clearly and persuasively
- Strong analytical skills and fluency in attribution, performance measurement and optimisation
- Excellent slide writing skills for client strategy, performance reporting and pitch environments
