ROLE OVERVIEW

Are you a well-organised, dedicated and motivated kitchen porter, looking to join a passionate and friendly team in a company that will train and develop you in your career? If so, then we are looking for a kitchen porter to join us at the Anya Cafe (10 minutes from Sloane Square Station). The Kitchen Porter plays an essential role in the efficient running of the kitchen by ensuring all kitchen equipment and utensils, including pots, pans, cutlery, crockery, and glassware, are cleaned and maintained to a high standard. This role is responsible for upholding hygiene and food safety standards, managing waste disposal, and maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organised kitchen and back-of-house environment to support the wider kitchen team.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Keep all kitchen work surfaces (counters, sinks, stoves, walls) clean and sanitised
  • Sweep and mop floors at the beginning and ending of shifts
  • Deep clean fridges and freezers, sanitising inside and out, and sweeping and mopping behind
  • Be ready to clean up spills to avoid hindering operations
  • Wash cookware, utensils and cutlery fast to keep them in rotation
  • Polish cutlery, crockery, and glassware
  • Arrange equipment and ingredient deliveries
  • Keep the food and supply storage areas organised
  • Take out the waste and sanitise the bins
  • Regular bathroom checks every hour
  • Support kitchen staff with routine food prep tasks (such as peeling and chopping vegetables, preparing sandwiches etc) when needed
