Job Overview
Working with a caseload of apprenticeship candidates completing a variety of qualifications, you will strive to inspire, support, and mentor individuals to achieve their occupational standard and get to gateway in a timely manner. You will be expected to support our existing portfolio of apprenticeships, including Mortgage Advisor, Financial Services Advisor, Senior Financial Services Advisor plus other apprenticeships in finances, recruitment, coaching, learning and development and marketing.
Key Responsibilities
- Onboard apprentices, completing mandatory paperwork and internal quality documents as appropriate
- Implement the delivery plan, maintaining a high standard of teaching and support
- Guide and support apprentices to ensure the submission of timely, high-quality work assessment
- Provide developmental feedback to apprentices on possible improvements
- Ensure learning sessions are planned and delivered to help develop the English and mathematical skills of apprentices and embed their understanding of British values
- Be a key point of contact for both the employer and the apprentice, and maintain and develop positive relationships with employers to encourage and facilitate further partnership as appropriate
- Support and guide the apprentice for the end point assessment criteria
- Ensure employers and apprentices have an accurate view of the programme and its delivery arrangements, and that apprentices are appropriately safeguarded
- Monitor apprentices progress at work, identifying skills gaps and facilitating development opportunities
- Conduct regular reviews with apprentices and their line managers both in person, in the workplace and on-line or by telephone, building productive relationships with both apprentice and employer and identifying any emerging issues at an early stage
- Facilitate progression and achievement of allocated apprentices/cohorts by setting SMART targets and action plans
- Carrying out quarterly reviews for each candidate
- Monitoring implementation of the learner commitment statement including the employers commitment to providing time for off-the-job activity
- Liaising with the line-manager and others in the employing organisation to support the implementation of knowledge in the workplace and development of skills and behaviours
- Recording progress and achievement
- Provide individualised guidance enabling candidates to build a showcase portfolio of knowledge, skills, and behaviours and help prepare apprentices for gateway and end-point assessment
- Identify apprentices at risk of not progressing and/or achieving and work with the employer and colleagues to implement remedial actions
- Proactively manage a caseload of apprentices providing an effective response to queries from employers and apprentices to ensure excellent levels of satisfaction, in line with strategic KPIs
- Use data to benchmark progress and achievement of both apprentices and cohorts of apprentices and identify and act on trends as appropriate
- Work with other Training and Development Coaches to share best practice and contribute to the continuous improvements of the apprenticeship portfolio
- Work with the Head of Business Development, as required, to provide product information, performance metrics and to ensure a seamless onboarding experience is offered to apprentices
- Attend organisational/team meetings and training sessions as required
- Use knowledge of the subject matter to support the Head of Business Development in creating sales-driven marketing packages
- Be an ambassador for the WBL team both internally and externally
- Maintain a good level of knowledge of current industry practice
Essential Criteria
- GCSEs at grade A*-C (new grades 4-9) in English and maths, or equivalent Level 2 qualifications
- Teaching qualification at Level 3 (i.e., AET/PTLLS) or higher
- Assessor (CAVA) and/or IQA awards
- Full UK Driving Licence and access to own vehicle
- Qualifications in the apprenticeship subject being delivered
