PEACE Programme Project Support Officer

SO2 (SCP 28 – 30) £37,938 – £39,513 subject to Job Evaluation Review in approx. one year

Plus 19% employer pension contribution

1 x Fixed Term Contract (Up until 31 March 2027 pending review) 37 hours per week

If you wish to be considered for an Internal post on a secondment basis, it is necessary to gain approval from your current line manager to release you for the required period.

Location: Mossley Mill but may be required to work at any Council site.

This is an office-based position and remote working is unavailable.

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

The post holder will assist in the delivery of any current and future PEACE Programme Strategies and Local Area Action Plans for Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council, including the financial monitoring and project support functions to ensure effective, compliant delivery. The postholder will form part of the secretariat for the Peace Programmes, servicing the Peace Partnership while supporting projects through effective contract management, verification, monitoring, and evaluation, to ensure eligibility of project activities and expenditure and the meeting of all project outputs and objectives. The postholder will participate in the delivery of consultation activities, develop links with stakeholders in the peace programme, and play a corporate role within the overall Community Planning Section to ensure the PEACEPLUS Programme develops and maintains a high-quality image and reputation with the public.

Recruitment Process:

The recruitment process will assess the suitability of the candidates against the requirements for the post, including the 7 competencies identified in the Competence Framework for Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council. (A copy of the Competency framework is attached for information). A pre-seen assessment will be part of the process. Provisional date for the next stage will be the week commencing 17 March 2025. A reserve list will be created for this post for a 6-month period, and if this post becomes available either part-time, full-time, temporary, or permanent within 6 months, this will be offered to reserve candidates in order of merit.
