1 x Temporary for 12 months, 37 hours per week. Start date 1 September 2026 ending 31 August 2027. Location: Mossley Mill but may be required to work at any Council site. This is an office-based position and remote working is unavailable.
MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
To protect and promote the health and wellbeing of those who live in, work in, and visit the Borough and to contribute to their quality of life. Be responsible to the Environmental Health Manager for the effective and efficient performance of a wide range of duties including:
- Contribute to the effective delivery of the Environmental Health service by assisting the Environmental Health Team deliver the objectives set out in the Environmental Health Business Plan.
- Identifying information needs within businesses and residential communities relating to Environmental Health matters.
- Assisting Environmental Health staff with visiting commercial and domestic properties to assess compliance with Environmental Health legislation.
- Devising, planning and participating in training and information campaigns to promote awareness of legislative requirements and health issues.

Recruitment Process:
The recruitment process will assess the suitability of the candidates against the requirements for the post including the 4 competencies identified in the Competence Framework for Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council. A reserve list will be created for this post for a 4 week period and if this post becomes available within 4 weeks this will be offered to reserve candidates in order of merit.
