Civil Litigation Solicitor – London/ Hybrid

Location: City of London / Hybrid Working
An exciting opportunity to work with a highly regarded Legal 500 City law firm who have built an outstanding reputation in litigation, particularly focusing on housing and landlord-tenant disputes. This City of London Practice’s work spans cases involving HMO licenses, disrepair claims, deposit disputes, harassment cases, and more.
We are now seeking a talented and experienced Civil Litigation Solicitor or Legal Executive with expertise in landlord and tenant law to join our client’s growing team.
Your Role:
You will manage your own caseload, work with a supportive team, and contribute to business development. This is a unique opportunity to develop your career in a thriving firm offering excellent career progression and financial incentives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing a varied litigation caseload independently.
  • Advising on landlord and tenant matters, including:
    • Housing Disrepair claims.
    • Deposit disputes and possession proceedings.
    • Social housing disputes.
    • Tenancy agreements and housing licenses (e.g., HMO and selective licenses).
  • Handling cases across Small Claims, Multi-Track, and Fast Track.
  • Advocating in County Court proceedings.
  • Supervising and mentoring support staff and paralegals.
  • Developing new client relationships and managing billing targets.

About You:

We are looking for a driven and resourceful solicitor with a passion for litigation and housing law.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Qualified solicitor in England and Wales (NQ to 3+ PQE).
  • Strong knowledge of landlord and tenant law, including the Housing Act 2004 and Landlord & Tenant Act 1985 .
  • Practical experience in interim injunctions, tenancy reviews, and Civil Procedure Rules.
  • Proven ability to manage a caseload and meet billing targets.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a client-focused approach.
