One of our private clients requires an experienced and proactive Houseman to join a busy household team. This is a hands-on, all-rounder, live-out position offering variety, longevity, and the chance to become a genuinely valued member of a professional household.

The Role

The successful candidate will work primarily inside the residence, supporting the housekeeping team as a core part of their daily duties. This role suits someone who takes pride in maintaining exceptional standards, enjoys variety, and is happy to muck in wherever needed. A genuine love of animals and comfort within a busy family environment are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the smooth day-to-day running of the household, including hands-on cleaning, laundry, and basic maintenance
  • Carry out basic handyman tasks and assist with heavy lifting when needed
  • Welcome guests, accept deliveries, and ensure the property is presented to an exceptional standard at all times
  • Provide dog care and security cover for the house when the family are away
  • Provide driving services for family members, run errands, and maintain household vehicles
  • Assist in the management of contractors on site, liaising between house management and the principals
  • Conduct routine property inspections and oversee daily security checks
  • Provide daily pet care, including feeding, washing, and administering medication when required
  • Maintain patios, walkways, facilities, and exterior areas, assisting gardeners as directed
  • Provide drinks service and assist with light meal preparation when required
  • Support the household during family events, entertaining, and guest visits
  • Keep accurate records of receipts and expenses
  • Work collaboratively with the Housekeeping and PA team to ensure seamless household operations

Profile

  • Previous experience working in an UHNW private household or similar service-centric environment
  • A true all-rounder, happy to support across multiple areas of household operations
  • Comfortable with housekeeping duties forming a significant and essential part of the role
  • Driving licence and knowledge of London driving
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Highly organised, proactive, and able to use initiative
  • Enjoys working as part of a team while also capable of working independently
  • Comfortable around pets and enjoys working in a busy family environment
  • Demonstrates discretion, flexibility, and a positive, can-do attitude
