About the role
Samsara’s Installation Engineers are on the front lines of ensuring customers successfully deploy our hardware and technology at scale. In this role, you will oversee customer engagements with installation partners, provide onsite support for complex deployments, and proactively de-risk projects to deliver smooth, high-quality installations. You’ll work closely with customers, partners, and cross-functional teams to ensure every project drives adoption and long-term value. This role is ideal for someone with experience in project management, installation oversight, or field services who thrives in fast-paced, customer-facing environments. High level of travel is expected with potential overnight stays.

In this role, you will:
- Define installation best practices for the EMEA organisation.
- Assist partners in building project‑specific installation guides using Samsara best practices and deliver onsite training to installer technicians on project specific requirements.
- Coordinate with installation partners to ensure work is completed on time, on budget, and to Samsara’s quality standards in accordance with the Statement of Work (SOW).
- Identify risks early, propose mitigation strategies, and keep projects on track.
- Serve as a point of contact for escalations and troubleshooting during install phases.
- Provide onsite oversight for large or complex deployments, including building specifications, driving communication with installers, perform real‑time troubleshooting, and complete onsite quality checks.
- Perform first of kind installations on complex customer projects, serving as the hands-on technical expert.
- Capture lessons learned from each project to improve processes and drive continuous improvement with installation partners.
- Collaborate with internal teams (Customer Success, Implementation, and Product) to upscale, share feedback, and enhance the installation experience.
Minimum requirements for the role:
- 5+ years experience managing vehicle and/or hardware technology.
- Prior vehicle installation or fitter experience (e.g. experience installing emergency lighting, two‑way mobile radios, GPS equipment, antennas or other electrical equipment).
- Understanding of vehicle diagnostic systems, including Controller Area Networks (CAN bus) and Power Take Off (PTO) applications, for on‑road and off‑road vehicles and industrial equipment.
- Confident in electronic & system integration and specification.
- Experience in field operations coordination, implementation, and technical deployment.
- Interest in AI with the view to create tooling to operate at scale.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects in parallel.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Comfortable in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment with cross‑functional collaboration.
- Must have valid driver’s license and be insurable.
An ideal candidate also has:
- Experience with tachographs.
- Can develop professional customer‑facing documentation with diagrams and communicate effectively in ambiguous, fast‑paced work environments.
- Has strong bias for standardisation & automation, the ability to think big, with insistence on high standards.
- Possesses strong problem‑solving skills and a continuous improvement mindset.
- Has familiarity or hands‑on experience with AI tools to drive operational efficiency.
