Reporting to the Global Finance Director, you will take ownership of group financial reporting, accounting operations and internal controls. This senior, hands-on role combines strategic oversight with transactional responsibility – you will be expected to roll up your sleeves when required, without losing sight of the bigger picture.
You will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of group financial results, compliance with accounting standards and regulations, and effective reconciliation of intercompany and group accounts. This is a unique opportunity to shape the finance function at a fast-growing global venture capital platform while working closely with regional finance teams and leadership.
Responsibilities:
- Review financial results from subsidiaries, ensuring consistency with group accounting policies and IFRS standards.
- Provide guidance and oversight to local finance teams and regional finance leaders, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Investigate and resolve intercompany mismatches prior to group consolidation.
- Reconcile month-end group management accounts, ensuring accuracy and timely sign-off.
- Ensure aged reconciling items are investigated and cleared promptly across the group.
- Support timely and accurate month-end close for all group entities.
- Partner with the Global Finance Director during annual group audits, including preparation of audit listings and responding to audit queries.
- Shape and improve financial systems, ERP processes, and tools, contributing to the evolution of the group finance function.
- Train, mentor, and support development of group management accountants and bookkeepers.
- Drive standardisation of finance processes across regions, balancing global consistency with local requirements.
- Perform ad-hoc reconciliations and transactional work where needed, particularly during peak periods or complex group processes.
What We’re Looking For:
- 5+ years of experience as a Financial Controller or in group consolidation, within multi-entity international groups.
- Strong background in group management accounting, reconciliations, and complex intercompany structures.
- Experience with group audits and IFRS compliance.
- Skilled at tailoring communication style for diverse audiences and navigating cultural differences in multinational environments.
- Comfortable working across multiple time zones and collaborating with distributed teams.
- Demonstrated ability to foster a collaborative, high-performance finance culture.
- Credible, reliable, and trusted point of contact for all accounting matters across the group.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
- Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA) – completed.
- ERP experience; NetSuite experience is a plus.
- Big 4 experience is highly desirable.
