About Prima Mente

Prima Mente is a frontier biology AI lab. We generate our own data, build general purpose biological foundation models, and translate discoveries into research and clinical outcomes. Our first goal is to tackle the brain: to deeply understand it, protect it from neurological disease, and enhance it in health. Our team of AI researchers, experimentalists, clinicians, and operators is based in London, San Francisco and Dubai.

The Opportunity

This is a high-ownership, execution-first role at the centre of Prima Mente’s clinical engine. Prima Mente is entering a phase of real-world delivery. Our clinical programs are live, complex, and operating inside NHS clinics with real patients, clinicians, and constraints. This role sits at the centre of that reality. Our flagship clinical program, SANDBOX, runs across NHS memory clinics and is the primary way we generate real-world data to train, validate, and deploy our models. This role is responsible for ensuring these programs work exceptionally well in practice. You will not be handed a narrow task list. You will be trusted with outcomes. You will act as the effective owner of several clinical programs, accountable for delivery end to end and shaping how Prima Mente runs clinical studies at scale.

What This Role Is (Today)

  • Wants to own delivery, not advise from the sidelines
  • Is energised by ambiguity and real-world constraints
  • Cares deeply about patient experience, data quality, and clinical credibility
  • Enjoys building systems by first living inside the work

You will be close to sites, vendors, labs, software teams, and patients. When things break, you help fix them. When patterns emerge, you improve the system.

Core Responsibilities

End-to-End Clinical Program Ownership

You are accountable for clinical programs running well in the real world. This includes:

  • Owning delivery of SANDBOX and related sub-studies from setup through recruitment and execution
  • Acting as the primary operational point of contact for NHS sites and external partners
  • Ensuring recruitment, data quality, and participant experience meet high standards
  • Identifying risks early and resolving issues before they compound
  • Balancing patient safety, regulatory rigour, and operational pragmatism

Success looks like:

  • Sites trust you and elevate issues early
  • Recruitment trajectories improve because friction points are removed
  • Programs deliver high-quality, usable data on time
  • SANDBOX becomes an internal and external benchmark for how studies are conducted
Operational Systems and Scalable Execution

Beyond running today’s studies, you improve how we run studies. This includes:

  • Designing and refining workflows across sites, labs, vendors, and internal teams
  • Improving visibility into recruitment, performance, and delivery risks
  • Reducing repeat issues by addressing root causes
  • Helping new studies spin up faster using lessons from live delivery

Success looks like:

  • Fewer fire drills and clearer handoffs
  • Systems that scale beyond a single study or individual
  • Faster, more predictable clinical delivery without sacrificing rigour
Cross-Functional Coordination and External Credibility

You help the organisation see reality clearly. This includes:

  • Coordinating closely with lab, product, engineering, and research teams
  • Translating on-the-ground insights into actionable internal feedback
  • Managing external partners and vendors against clear expectations
  • Escalating risks proportionately and constructively

Success looks like:

  • Teams rely on your judgement to manage complexity
  • External partners see Prima Mente as credible and well‑run
  • Leadership has confidence that delivery risk is under control

Expected Growth and Progression

This role is intentionally designed to grow with the person. Progression is not title-driven. It is earned through execution, judgement, and ownership. The direction of growth will be shaped by where the company’s needs are greatest and where you want to create the most impact.

Indicative trajectory:

  • 1 month: Deep understanding of SANDBOX in practice and trusted point of contact for sites
  • 3 months: Full ownership of delivery and independently driving site performance
  • 6 months: Central operator for Prima Mente’s most critical clinical programs and influencing how studies are designed and run at scale

This role will expand into:

  • Shaping new clinical programs and sub-studies
  • Contributing to clinical‑facing product design grounded in real workflows
  • Supporting strategic healthcare partnerships and pilots
  • Helping define Prima Mente’s long‑term clinical delivery platform

What This Role Is Not

This is not a purely strategic or advisory role today. Prima Mente is in a phase where execution is the strategy. Broader leadership, product, or partnership scope emerges because the foundation is strong delivery under real‑world conditions.

Who You Are

You thrive when:

  • Accountability is clear but the path is not
  • You can turn complexity into execution
  • Patient impact and operational excellence both matter
  • You are trusted to own outcomes, not just tasks
  • You are calm under pressure, rigorous without being rigid, and motivated by making difficult things work in practice.

Ideal Experience

  • Experience working with NHS sites, labs, vendors, and digital tools
  • Delivery of complex, multi‑site clinical programs or trials
  • Strong understanding of MHRA, HRA or REC, GDPR, and ICH‑GCP
  • Comfort operating in fast‑moving or startup environments
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • A bias toward ownership, learning, and continuous improvement

Why Join Prima Mente

  • Real ownership from day one
  • Visible, measurable impact on patient care and scientific progress
  • A role that grows as you do
