Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Speech and Language Therapist Associate Practitioner to work alongside Specialist Speech and Language Therapists and Youth Justice staff in the Dorset Combined Youth Offending Team. The role supports children and young people who are currently accessing the Youth Justice Service at universal and targeted levels, including those at risk of exclusion, their families and schools.
Responsibilities
- Work with the Speech and Language Therapy Specialist Therapists and the wider Youth Justice Service to deliver a high-quality speech and language therapy service for children and young people.
- Deliver therapy programmes, training, coaching and other interventions devised by specialist speech and language therapists to individuals and groups.
- Work collaboratively with the wider Youth Justice Service to support communication-friendly interventions in a range of locations.
- Advise teaching assistants and parents about the speech, language and communication needs of individuals, and assist in developing systems with the Speech and Language Therapist to track access and frequency of interventions provided.
- Support the development of appropriate resources and easy-read information.
- This is a fixed-term role and, for those with NHS service, the role will be offered on a secondment basis only. Please obtain permission to be released on a secondment before submitting an application.
