Transplant Nursing Associate in Dorchester

A strategic objective of the Renal Operational Delivery Networks (ODN) is to increase to 40% of the Living Kidney Donors (LKD) to be pre-emptive, a positive step in preventing the need for individuals to commence renal replacement therapy. The role of the Band 4 will be new to the team assisting the registered nurses in providing high quality patient centred care. This role will be vital in helping to ensure that all patients receive education & timely referral for transplant. Renal knowledge & experience is desirable but not essential for the successful candidate as they will undertake a range of skilled procedures relevant to the clinical sphere after receiving relevant training and competency assessments have been completed.

Responsibilities:

• Obtain requested specimens and order routine bloods/investigations as directed by the senior members of the team.
• Able to triage patients concerns, phone calls and escalate accordingly.
• Act as a link between patients, nurses and MDT members.
