To manage the commencement of effective maintenance of mechanical services for the catering equipment within the Trust's Establishments. To oversee and manage the servicing, reactive repairs, and deep cleaning of the catering equipment. Liaising with the catering management team, organising sub-contractors, reviewing contracts and creating and then maintaining an asset register of all equipment. To be the lead for water safety in accordance with HTM 04-01 in healthcare premises, which will include the water safety plan implementation and updating, operational control procedures, audit risk assessments, water sampling and monitoring to BS 8552. To maintain water systems in such a way as to mitigate the risk of preventable waterborne diseases such as Legionnaires and Pseudomonas. To manage the maintenance on the air conditioning and refrigeration assets and to take ownership of the hydro pool maintenance and testing requirements.
The post holder will follow national standards, guidelines, departmental and Trusts operating policies and procedures when undertaking this role. To work in conjunction with the Senior Estates Officer, Estates Officer Mechanical, Estates Officer (Compliance) and Estates Officer (Electrical) to ensure the effective cost controlled provision of day to day maintenance services and to liaise with the directly employed labour mechanical & electrical teams and contractors in an efficient manner to achieve Trust objectives and best value at all times.

Essential Education, Qualifications & Training:
- Apprenticeship Time Served - Relevant Trade
- BETC/HNC/HND in relevant discipline
Desirable Education, Qualifications & Training:
- City & Guilds & NVQ (or equivalent trade certificate)
- Specialised courses in HTM at post graduate/diploma level
Essential Experience:
- Recent and significant post qualification experience, preferably within a healthcare environment.
- Experience of managing a team
Desirable Experience:
- Additional relevant trade experience.
- Authorised person in any HTM discipline.
Essential Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Mechanical installation and maintenance skills, including familiarity with the current water & ventilation regulations.
- Experienced in working on large heating and hot water systems and complex plant equipment.
- Experience of working on large ventilation installations and associated controls including chillers and air conditioning.
- Capable of proposing alterations, new systems and improvements in accordance with regulations and HTM standards.
- IT literate, including various types of software.
- Capital Projects experience.
Desirable Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to work on own initiative, or as part of a team.
- Good management skills, ability to manage a team of trades and contractors.
- Effective communication skills.
