Overview

Children and Young People\\\’s Speech and Language Therapist role at Antistatique, Dorset HealthCare. We are recruiting Band 5 Speech and Language Therapists to join our Children and Young People\\\’s Speech and Language Therapy service in Dorset. Flexible working around core hours is available.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of children and young people (0–19) with speech, language and communication needs, including Developmental Language Disorder, Dysfluency, Selective Mutism, Developmental Verbal Dyspraxia, Autism Spectrum Condition, Complex Needs, Speech Disorder and Speech and Language delay.
  • Perform assessment, diagnosis, advice and therapy interventions and collaborate with children, families and other professionals in settings such as schools, preschools, clinics, children\\\’s centres and at home.
  • Contribute to service development as part of a new speech, language and communication pathway for Dorset within the Balanced System Framework.
  • Engage in clinical care and decision-making with opportunities for supervision and mentoring.
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary teams and engage with education and children\\\’s centre partners.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Newly qualified or experienced Band 5 Speech and Language Therapist; returning to practice considered.
  • Applicants may be eligible for Preceptorship Programme or paid Return to Practice opportunities with progression to a Band 5 role on competency.
  • Current Skilled Worker sponsorship: applications requiring sponsorship are ineligible.
  • DBS check required; enhanced DBS cost covered by the Trust. DBS update service holders may present a valid certificate.
  • We welcome applications from nurses, occupational therapists and physiotherapists for our preceptorship and onboarding pathways.
