Overview
Are you looking to specialise in Cardiac Catheter Lab? There is a vacancy for Band 5 with a development pathway to progression from Band 5 to Band 6. We welcome enthusiastic and ambitious Radiographers to join Dorset County Hospital and develop their skills within the Cath Lab.
Our Cath Lab team focuses on patient care along the whole pathway. In-house and manufacturer training is provided for specialist equipment such as IVUS, OCT imaging and SynVision, pressure wire, and microvascular studies. Complex procedures may include Rotablation and Shockwave IVL. Stock control is important for efficient resource use, and the department uses an IMS system. The environment supports education and training across equipment and procedures, with opportunities to contribute to service improvement.
Job responsibilities
Develop expertise in the Cardiac Cath Lab and actively participate in patient care pathways. Undertake training to operate specialist equipment and perform supported procedures. Contribute to resource management and continuous service improvement. Maintain high standards of patient care in a supportive team environment.
Person Specification
Essential
- BSc Radiography or an equivalent Diploma in Radiography
- HCPC registration
- Evidence of CPD or relevant specialist courses
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to practice as a proficient practitioner and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, patients and visitors
- Good time management and understanding of clinical governance and confidentiality
- Knowledge of clinical audit
Desirable
- Experience with computer software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Knowledge and Experience
- Interest in Cardiac Catheter Lab skills; awareness of radiation safety legislation
