Dorset Healthcare University Foundation Trust is recruiting Wellbeing Practitioners (WP CYP IAPT) to join our CAMHS Gateway team. The role will deliver Low Intensity Cognitive Behavioural interventions to children and young people, through a mix of online and face‑to‑face sessions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide brief evidence‑based treatment interventions for children and young people with mental health difficulties.
  • Use and interpret outcome measures to guide clinical decisions.
  • Deliver individual and group therapy, including facilitation of group work.
  • Work within a multidisciplinary team to manage caseloads and provide clinical supervision.
  • Maintain accurate electronic patient records and produce regular data reports.
  • Support service improvement, contribute to change management and curriculum development.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Qualified Wellbeing Practitioner (CYP IAPT) – Post Grad Certificate or equivalent (e.g., Low Intensity Psychological Interventions for Children and Young People).
  • Experience working with children, young people and families who have mental health problems, especially depression and anxiety.
  • Supervised experience and ability to mentor or supervise junior staff.
  • Knowledge of CYP IAPT core principles and evidence‑based interventions.
  • Ability to manage workload efficiently, prioritise tasks and organise own time.
  • Experience with electronic patient/service user record systems and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Driver’s licence with access to a vehicle (required for travel to rural sites).

Desirable

  • Recent experience in a comparable role.

Employment Terms

  • Band 5 – Permanent, full‑time position.
  • Salary: £31,049 to £37,796 per annum.
  • Location: CAMHS Gateway, 64 Palmerston Road, Bournemouth, BH1 4HT. Duties may include travel within Dorset.
