Are you an established registered Mental Health Nurse either with CAMHS experience or looking to gain? We would love to hear from you! As a RMN/RNLD Nurse, you will work directly with young people and their families providing a range of assessments and therapeutic work, adopting the Thrive framework. Our aim is to provide outstanding care, promoting recovery and wellbeing in a modern, purpose-built setting to make a difference and have a positive change on the lives of young people. We invest in supporting and developing our nurses. Supervision from a Clinical Team Lead will be provided and training will be arranged where needed.
Our inpatient CAMHS is expanding to include a brand-new purpose-built 8-bed High Intensity Environment/PICU opening this year at Alumhurst Road, Bournemouth. The RMN/RNLD role is a full-time post of 37.5 hours per week for a 24-hour service. We would be flexible and welcome part-time applicants of 22.5 hours.

- Early - 07.00 to 15.00
- Late - 12.00 to 20.00
- Twilight - 16.00 to 00.00
- Nights - 19:30 to 07.30 (enhanced pay)
- Long days - 07.00 - 20.00

Main duties of the job
The role will be based in the Adolescent In-patient Unit providing individual care to those within the unit in accordance with the integrated care programme approach. You will:
- Work in accordance with the Trust Clinical Governance programme informing Senior Clinical Nurse when changes occur in circumstances that affect standards of care.
- Be required to participate in all activities within the unit, including food preparation and supervision of meals.
- Assist in the organisation of outside activities in line with the Clinical Risk policy and be responsible for the safety and wellbeing of young people on external activities.
- Develop effective liaison and communication with all disciplines, agencies, parents/carers and service users, giving sound advice and support to service users and their carers as appropriate in line with professional practice.
- Undertake a Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression course; it is a condition of employment that all aspects are completed.
- Undergo an Enhanced DBS check (Trust will cover the cost) or present a valid DBS through the update service.

Essential and Desirable qualifications and attributes:
Essential Education/Qualifications: RMN; Current NMC registration.

Essential Skills/Experience/Knowledge: Experience with seriously mentally ill clients during acute phases; Understanding of ICPA and risk assessment; Understanding of medication management issues and psychotropic medications; Knowledge of Mental Health Act 1983; Working knowledge of NMC Code of Professional Conduct; Basic IT skills.
Desirable Skills/Experience/Knowledge: Experience with children and young people in mental health services; Experience with CBT/DBT/Motivational Interviewing; Community Experience.
Additional Requirements: Proficient written and spoken English; fitness to participate in PMVA, Breakaway training and Manual Handling.
