We are looking for a Clinical Manager to lead a new team for our brand‑new purpose‑built 8‑bed inpatient CAMHS High Intensity Environment/ PICU unit opening in 2026 at Alumhurst Road, Bournemouth. The role is open to nurses from all backgrounds with experience. As Clinical Manager you will bring strong clinical leadership and management skills, a good understanding of complex mental health, attachment and trauma issues for children and young people, and a supportive, empathetic approach to service users and carers. You will help deliver high‑quality care and treatment for patients with physical, social, psychological and emotional needs, supporting comprehensive assessments and treatment to reduce hospital stays and develop clear care plans.
Main duties of the job:
- Work within the senior management team to ensure safe, effective care and treatment; support the team’s development with learning opportunities.
- Provide day‑to‑day leadership of a clinical team and practitioners, and other staff in the multi‑disciplinary team.
- Act as champion for clinical standards and continuous improvement in the service user experience.
- Deliver access to leading research programmes in mental health and support staff skill development through ground‑breaking work.

Person Specification:
Essential – Knowledge, skills and training:
- Registered / qualified health practitioner to degree level supplemented by minimum PG Dip (120 credits) plus working towards MA / MSc or demonstrable extensive experience in the relevant specialty.
- Evidence of recent evidence‑based professional development in an up‑to‑date portfolio.
- Broad clinical and multi‑agency knowledge.
- Knowledge and understanding of legislation relevant to area of clinical practice.
Essential – Job specific experience:
- Demonstrable experience as a registered practitioner at Band 6 level.
- Demonstrates specialist expertise and knowledge underpinned by theory acquired through CPD in relation to clinical assessment, treatment and evaluation.
Essential – Managerial/supervisory experience:
- Previous clinical people management experience.
- Able to act as a clinical supervisor.
Essential – Additional requirements:
- Demonstrable skills in written and spoken English, adequate to enable the post holder to carry out the role effectively.
