Are you a qualified practitioner who takes pride in being outgoing, self‑motivated, and creative, with an interest in helping children and young people? The Dorset Integrated Non‑Custodial Service works with children and young people entering the criminal justice system—usually in police custody or through a Voluntary Attendance Interview. You will use your clinical experience to carry out mental health and risk assessments, share information with the police, help reduce the risk of re‑offending by identifying vulnerabilities, and ensure appropriate support is put in place. This full‑time Monday‑to‑Friday (8:30–16:30) role covers all of Dorset. A UK driving licence is essential. Part‑time applications (minimum 30 hours) are welcome. The role is a fixed‑term contract ending 31 March 2028 to help implement an enhanced service for children and young people.
Key Responsibilities

Person Specification
Essential
- Registered practitioner to degree/diploma level with post‑registration diploma‑level specialist training and/or extensive experience in the relevant specialty.
- Membership of the relevant professional body.
- Experience at Practitioner Band 5 level.
- Experience of managing change.
- Able to analyse and assess situations, interpret conflicting information, and determine appropriate action.
Desirable
- Recent previous experience working with children and young people who have vulnerabilities.
