The Role
Working in our Swansea Branch (based in Swansea SA6 8RA), you will support our Branch Manager to ensure the highest level of customer service to our customers and will help manage the branch.
You’ll ensure the branch runs like clockwork: effectively, efficiently, and always in line with company procedures.
This isn't a "sit behind a desk" role; it’s about leadership, pace, and maintaining the momentum of a busy branch.
We are one of the largest providers of industrial components in the UK and this role will help us ensure we are delivering excellent customer service.
Dealing with customers on the phone, via email and in person, you will also use our computer systems for tracking orders, checking stock and dealing with customer accounts and enquiries.
IT literacy in important although system training will be given.
Light warehouse duties will also be involved including checking goods in and preparing for dispatch.
You must be a team worker with excellent customer service skills and strong administrative skills.
Some management experience would be useful.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
People Support the Branch Manager in implementing a customer driven philosophy through all team members.
Support the Branch Manager to ensure adequate training and on-going development of all branch staff including branch systems and procedures.
Ensure that all company policies and procedures are adhered to e. g Health & Safety, Holiday and Sickness, Recruitment, motor report forms etc. and, in the absence of the Branch Manager, that the branch is adequately staffed at all times.
Customers Ensure that the highest level of customer service is provided at all times by self and all team members.
Serve customers at the Branch counter taking orders, collecting them from stores and processing payment for goods purchased.
Place orders for goods not in stock, at customer's request.
Take calls from existing and new customers to provide a helpful and professional service.
Administration To be aware and implement the Company Systems and Procedures and ensure that other branch staff do the same.
Use the system as per company procedure for tracking stock to make available for customers, checking customers' accounts, dealing with general enquiries.
Environment In the absence of the Branch Manager, to ensure the security of the branch is administered correctly and that the assets in his/her charge, are secure and accurately accounted for.
In the absence of the Branch Manager, to ensure the appearance of all branch vehicles, personnel and property is kept to acceptable standards.
To maintain all company property including electrical and IT equipment to a reasonable standard.
Stocks and warehouse In support of the Branch Manager, ensure branch is accurately stocked in line with company guidelines and that the stock ordering, condition and checking is of the highest standards and in line with company policy.
Sales Support the Branch Manager to ensure that the branch plays an active role in the company promotions.
Purchasing Ensure a good relationship with front line suppliers and regular communication.
Ensure that company stocks are utilized first.
Support the Branch Manager in use of preferred suppliers and negotiation of other arrangements in accordance with company policy.
Communication Attend company/branch meetings as requested.
Support the Branch Manager in the management of branch staff.
Personal Development Constantly strive to develop their own ability and contribute ideas and skills to branch/company development.
