Antibodies.com is a young and innovative company that supplies high-quality protein research tools to life scientists. These tools enable researchers to analyse components of living cells at the molecular level which is essential for disease and therapeutics research. As a rapidly expanding organization headquartered in Cambridge (UK), with additional hubs located in the USA and Sweden, we have achieved a remarkable 100% year-over-year growth. This is a thrilling moment to become a part of our team and contribute to our mission of enabling researchers to discover more, for less.
Role: A fantastic opportunity has arisen at Antibodies.com for an individual to lead our product data curation, working across our catalogue of life science research tools. This is a hands-on, highly Excel-based role: you'll manage large product datasets and ensure our product descriptions, images, and pricing are accurate and up to date across the catalogue, using VB.net-based tools to scrape and gather supplier and reference data. You'll also take ownership of developing our junior product data assistant, providing day-to-day guidance and structured training to bring them up to speed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage product data for our online catalogue, including processing new product lines, editing existing products, and ongoing refinement of existing data.
- Use and maintain VB.net-based tools to scrape and gather supplier and reference data to support product data accuracy.
- Train, support, and oversee a junior team member, setting them up for success and developing their skills over time.
- Build and maintain relationships by telephone and email with suppliers to ensure the continued accuracy of our product catalogue and price list.
- Co-ordinate with other team members to ensure the efficient processing of product catalogues and the fast onboarding of new suppliers.
This is not a definitive list of responsibilities and it is expected that the role will be varied.
Qualifications and Skills:
- PhD in a life science field.
- Strong Excel skills, plus experience with or willingness to learn VB.net for web-scraping/data-gathering purposes.
- In-depth understanding of commonly-used protein biology techniques (either as a lab scientist or from a commercial perspective).
- Experience working with large datasets, with an understanding of common antibody-based applications to screen product data quality, and familiarity with databases such as UniProt, NCBI, and PubMed.
- Some prior experience mentoring, training, or supervising others is desirable, but not essential — full support will be given to develop these skills.
- Independent self-starter who is able to work with a high degree of autonomy.
- High-attention to detail and strong levels of accuracy in all tasks.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong time management, with the ability to prioritise and complete tasks effectively.
- Results orientated with the drive and ability to set and meet agreed objectives.
- Team player with good communication skills.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
Remuneration: We offer a competitive salary (commensurate with experience) and a company bonus scheme (10% OTE up to 20%) and company perks.
How to Apply: If you are an organized, detail-oriented individual with a PhD and a passion for science, we’d love to hear from you! Please submit your CV to hr@antibodies.com.
