Anthrotek is a fast-growing start-up specializing in hyper-realistic silicone solutions. Our products include artificial skin, faces, organs and body parts, serving fields from medical simulation to robotics and the cinematic special effects industry. We blend cutting-edge material science (silicone, soft materials) with artistic precision and the latest 3D modelling, AI and 3D printing technology.
We are now looking for a versatile Medical Model Product Designer who sits at the intersection of product management, 3D design and modeling (Blender), user experience and documentation. This role is for someone who enjoys making, iterating, testing, and improving physical products, not just designing them on screen.
You will play a key role throughout the product lifecycle: from understanding user needs and defining requirements, to shaping product usability, creating supporting documentation, and supporting 3D design and 3D modelling work. You’ll work closely with the founders, technical & workshop teams to transform early concepts into manufacturable & commercialisable physical products.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the design of medical simulation models including skin systems, injection pads, medical phantoms, and anatomical replicas.
- As a 3D modeling expert, support the 3D design of anatomical models, 3D modelling of moulds for casting, product concepts and product iterations.
- Help define and maintain product requirements based on market needs, internal constraints, usability, ergonomics, and overall user experience.
- Write and design user manuals, instruction guides, and technical documentation.
- Actively seek knowledge through user interactions to improve existing products and inform new ones.
- Lead aspects of the production related to product packaging and shipping.
- Solid experience with Blender (or equivalent) for mesh-based 3D modeling, surface modelling, sculpting, texture work.
- Practical understanding of physical products development (not purely digital design).
- Proven experience in product management fundamentals (requirements, usability, market fit).
- Proven experience in documentation writing (user manuals, instructions, technical guides).
- Experience with Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop) for user manuals, instruction guides & visual documentation. Alternative / Equivalent Tools will be considered.
- Comfortable interacting with customers.
- Attention to detail in both visual and written outputs.
- Experience working in the medical/anatomical simulation industry.
- Academic knowledge of human anatomy (skin layers, fascia, organs).
- Experience interacting with customers.
- Experience with product manufacturing or technical environments.
- This role is: Hands-on, Creative but practical, Focused on execution and iteration.
- This role is not: A people-management role, A purely conceptual or artistic design role, A senior product strategy position.
- Initial salary ranging from £30,000 to £50,000 per year (full-time basis) depending on experience.
- Equity scheme for employees.
- 26 days of annual leave.
- Industry-leading training opportunities.
