Role Summary
To achieve the Anthropologie mission of creating an 'unimagined store experience' by developing a store culture that fosters creativity and inspires both the store team and the customer. To support the Store Manager in achieving strategic short and long term goals. Assume store accountability for sales, service, store execution and loss prevention. Using directives from the Head Office Creative team and Store Manager, lead the execution of all visual projects in store, delivering a customer store experience that is inspiring, dynamic and entertaining for our customers.
What You'll Be Doing
- Merchandising and Display
- With guidance from the Store Manager, interpret company direction and current fashion trends to deliver creative and exciting VM solutions, which are market specific and support in sales generation.
- Consistently lead and collaborate with the Store Manager, Display Coordinators and other creative coordinators resulting in innovative and timely project execution.
- Proactively manage, with direction from Store Manager, the delivery of seasonal display and merchandising concepts through effective time management and planning, detailed bubble mapping, clean execution and timely completion.
- Following company guidelines, implement all VM initiatives, window schemes and styling direction to the highest possible standard.
- Inspire others to work toward a common, collaborative goal by sharing inspiration, new ideas and pertinent information from Head Office using weekly meetings and team communication.
- Coach team members on merchandise placement, merchandising standards, execution of promotion and markdown placement and business analysis.
- Facilitate an efficient shipment processing system in which merchandise is placed promptly in order to maximise sales.
- Exhibit a sound understanding of the store's profitability, and guide team members to utilise Company reports to react to trends and drive business.
- People
- Recruit, train and develop to increase the day to day productivity of the business.
- Manage aspects of performance development for a productive, inspired and successful workforce.
- Uphold Company standards and act as a mentor, teacher and positive role model.
- Lead by example and inspire a shared vision by communicating company goals.
- Assist and participate with the roll-out of all new training and operational initiatives.

- Manage and motivate the store teams to achieve an unimagined level of customer care.
- Identify and develop team members to assist in VM projects and seasonal set-ups.
- Celebrate accomplishments of both individuals and shared goals, give credit when due.
- Leadership & Communication
- Attend daily meetings and collaborate with Store Manager, to share inspiration, new ideas and pertinent information from Head Office with the store team.
- Model, lead the way in daily interactions by being professional, a clear communicator and open to new ideas.
- Communicate new inspiration to the Head Office via Store Manager, through good ideas and visual presentations.
- Managing The Environment
- Work with Display Coordinators and store team to ensure work areas are organised and clean, with an emphasis on customer and employee safety.
- Partner with the store manager plan and execute any shop floor work outside of busy periods keeping customer impact to a minimum.
- With support from the Store Manager, ensure safety standards are upheld in the store in terms of displays and visual spaces including tools, equipment and visual supplies.
- Oversee all levels of customer service, and ensure a positive store environment.
- Exhibit excellent floor presence by leading by example, and training and coaching the store team on customer service, standards, product placement and time management.
- Operations
- Support sales generation by creating an environment that highlights the appearance of the product and reflects the customer's lifestyle and interests.
- Collaborate with the Store Manager to support the store in achieving the stock loss goal.
- Ensure all merchandise used for display is maintained, properly handled and accounted for at all times.
- Guide the team to perform all store-level operational procedures accurately and in a timely fashion, in accordance with all Company policies and procedures.
- Ensure there is a functional shipment processing system to facilitate new merchandise being placed promptly, the sales floor is fully replenished, and product standards adhered to.
- Possess excellent organisational skills and have the ability to plan, organise and execute projects by priority.
- Store keyholding leading opening and closing when required to meet the demands of the store and business.
- Working days/hours to be flexible across the retail trading week to support project demands and to meet the operational retail pattern needs of the business.
- Assist in upholding Company Health & Safety procedures at all times to protect employees and Customers against accidents and incidents.
What You'll Need
- Proven track record of driving sales through excellent visual presentations and strong business acumen.
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels and possess strong organizational skills.
- Can demonstrate the ability to identify barriers to frictionless customer service and implement creative solutions.
- Show willingness to pivot between tasking and sales always putting the customer as priority.
- A willingness to travel and be away from a home store for periods of time to support on new store openings and projects.
- Retail management experience with creative interests or a background in fashion, art and music.
