Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.

We are looking for a strategic and analytical Head of Corporate FP&A to partner with our leadership team during a period of rapid growth. In this role, you will lead financial planning processes, develop and publish financial reporting, and drive data-driven decision making across the organization. As we scale our business, you will continue to build a world-class FP&A function and processes to support our growth. If you are looking for an opportunity to make a significant impact on the financial trajectory of a highly innovative AI company, come join us in our mission to build cutting-edge, safe artificial intelligence.

Responsibilities:
  • Own annual planning, quarterly forecasting, and monthly management reporting of financial performance.
  • Partner with senior leaders to develop financial targets, key metrics, and detailed business plans.
  • Lead monthly business reviews with executives to discuss results, identify risks and opportunities, and drive accountability.
  • Develop business narrative and variance analysis for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Build insightful management reporting, dashboards, and metrics to track performance and inform decision making.
  • Lead, manage, and scale an outstanding Corporate FP&A team.
  • Implement financial systems and drive process improvements to scale FP&A.
  • Collaborate with team members across Finance to ensure accurate, timely financial close and reporting.
You may be a good fit if you:
  • Have 10+ years of FP&A experience, including 5+ years in leadership roles.
  • Have experience leading an FP&A function through both rapid growth and operating at scale; able to provide the context and expertise needed to guide our team through this critical stage.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership and mentorship skills to develop and manage a high-performing team.

  • Thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment and adapt well to change.
  • Are passionate about Anthropic's mission to build safe, transformative AI systems.
  • Have excellent business judgment, integrity, and a strong work ethic.
Strong candidates may also:
  • Bring experience in SaaS, AI/ML, and usage-based business models.
  • Hold a professional accounting certification, MBA or other relevant advanced degree (e.g., finance, data science, statistics).
  • Possess strong SQL and data visualization (e.g., Looker, Tableau) skills.

The expected salary range for this position is: Annual Salary: $300,000—$300,000 USD.

Logistics:
  • Location-based hybrid policy: Currently, we expect all staff to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time. However, some roles may require more time in our offices.
  • US visa sponsorship: We do sponsor visas! However, we aren't able to successfully sponsor visas for every role and every candidate; operations roles are especially difficult to support. But if we make you an offer, we will make every effort to get you into the United States, and we retain an immigration lawyer to help with this.

We encourage you to apply even if you do not believe you meet every single qualification. Not all strong candidates will meet every single qualification as listed. Research shows that people who identify as being from underrepresented groups are more prone to experiencing imposter syndrome and doubting the strength of their candidacy, so we urge you not to exclude yourself prematurely and to submit an application if you're interested in this work. We think AI systems like the ones we're building have enormous social and ethical implications. We think this makes representation even more important, and we strive to include a range of diverse perspectives on our team.
