As an AV Engineer based in our London office, you'll design and implement the systems that enable world‑class collaboration and communication across offices in the EMEA region. This role is critical as we rapidly expand our physical footprint, with plans for multiple new offices and expansions over the coming years.

You’ll be responsible for architecting AV solutions from concept through commissioning, ensuring our conference rooms, event spaces, and collaboration areas provide frictionless experiences that enable our teams to advance AI safety research. You'll help establish standards and systems that scale efficiently while pushing the boundaries of what's possible in workplace collaboration technology.

Responsibilities

  • Lead AV design, procurement, and programming for new office builds, expansions, and retrofits across our global portfolio.
  • Create and maintain AV system designs including schematic drawings, line diagrams, and elevation plans.
  • Program and commission AV systems to meet specific use cases and user requirements.
  • Execute successful "first day of business" deployments for new offices, ensuring all systems are operational for day‑one occupancy.
  • Attend build coordination meetings with architects, contractors, and workplace teams to drive AV requirements and integration.
  • Innovate and test emerging AV technologies to optimize productivity and enable premium experiences for existing and upcoming spaces.
  • Develop automated solutions to improve system reliability and reduce operational overhead.
  • Partner with Security and IT teams to ensure AV systems meet enterprise security requirements.
  • Create comprehensive documentation for all systems including programming logic, troubleshooting guides, and operational procedures.
  • Oversee operations globally to ensure seamless AV operations and service delivery standards are consistently met.
  • Manage relationships with AV integrators and vendors to ensure project success.
  • Assist with AV operations support including event production and system maintenance as needed.

You may be a good fit if you

  • Have 8+ years of experience designing and implementing AV systems in an enterprise environment.
  • Are proficient in control system programming utilizing the Q‑Sys ecosystem or similar.
  • Have hands‑on experience with video conferencing platforms, particularly Google Meet.
  • Can read and create AV technical drawings including schematics, line diagrams, and rack elevations.
  • Understand digital signal processing (DSP) concepts for audio, including acoustic echo cancellation, noise reduction, EQ/dynamics, and automixing.
  • Are familiar with enterprise video distribution, streaming technologies, and broadcast standards.
  • Can manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting aggressive timelines.
  • Collaborate effectively with non‑technical stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
  • Have excellent troubleshooting skills and are comfortable diving into complex integrated systems.
  • Care about creating exceptional user experiences through technology.

Strong candidates may also have

  • Experience with Logitech video conferencing ecosystem and management platforms.
  • Certifications such as Q‑Sys Level 2, CTS, or CTS‑D.
  • Familiarity building control scripts using Lua within Q‑Sys.
  • Background in broadcast production or live event engineering.
  • Experience with Netgear network switches running AV over IP systems (QLAN, Dante, SMPTE 2110).
  • Familiarity with digital signage platforms (Appspace or similar).
  • Understanding of acoustical design principles for conference spaces.
  • Track record of successful large‑scale office technology deployments.
  • Previous experience performing AV installations.
  • Background working in high‑growth technology companies.
  • Experience with Google Workspace administration.

Additional Requirements

This position will require up to 8 weeks of domestic and international travel to help with new office build outs.

  • Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
  • Required field of study: A field relevant to the role as demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience.
  • Minimum years of experience: Years of experience required will correlate with the internal job level requirements for the position.
  • Location‑based hybrid policy: Currently, we expect all staff to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time. However, some roles may require more time in our offices.
  • Visa sponsorship: We do sponsor visas! However, we aren't able to successfully sponsor visas for every role and every candidate. But if we make you an offer, we will make every reasonable effort to get you a visa, and we retain an immigration lawyer to help with this.
