Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site HGV Mechanic role located in Doncaster, VIC. The HGV Mechanic will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining the company’s fleet of vehicles, including Hiab Vehicles, Low-Loaders, Artic Flatbeds, and other specialized machinery. Duties include conducting vehicle inspections, carrying out preventative maintenance, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and completing certification requirements. The successful candidate will also assist with breakdown repairs, troubleshoot mechanical issues, and provide input on fleet optimization and safety improvements.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing heavy goods vehicles, including Hiab systems and hydraulics
- Experience with preventative maintenance, servicing schedules, and inspections
- Understanding of safety regulations and certification requirements for large vehicles
- Problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot mechanical and technical faults
- Ability to work independently, manage workloads effectively, and meet deadlines
- NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or an equivalent qualification
