We are looking for an R&D Scientist to join our Cell Therapy and Laboratory Services team.
Salary: £34,628 per annum
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 35 per week (standard Anthony Nolan working hours)
Location: On site, Anthony Nolan Cell Therapy Centre, Clifton, Nottingham
Job Summary: This role is designed to bridge across teams to streamline the development of new processes and provision of new materials. This will allow us to take new requests from customers and provide the resource to develop these into routine products that can be processed and provided by the wider ANCTC and CT&LS teams. Continuous improvement is at the core of what we do so this role also aims to give ANCTC the resource required for validation of new equipment and processes; revalidation and testing of existing equipment as well as revision/improvement of existing processes. The role sits within ANCTC, which is part of the larger Operations and Patient services team and provides both materials for transplant as well as for R&D and clinical trials. As such this role could impact both in the transplant field and within R&D.
Key skills include:
- Experience with the use of flow cytometry to immunophenotype a range of leukocyte subsets is essential.
- Isolation of cells based on surface markers using MACS or FACS-based procedures.
- Cell processing experience.
- An understanding of how to undertake validation of equipment and processes.
- Awareness/experience of quality systems.
- Familiar with working under accreditation/regulation.
