We are looking for a Laboratory Scientist to join our Technical Service team.
Salary: £32,826 per annum
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 35 per week (standard Anthony Nolan working hours)
Location: Fully site‑based, Anthony Nolan Histocompatibility Laboratories, Hampstead - London
Key responsibilities:
- Effectively prioritising your workload
- Troubleshooting of processes and suggestions for improvement
- Efficiently performing techniques and responsibilities to a high standard
- Adhering to standard laboratory practices
- Being open to feedback and a driver of positive change
- Perform verification/validation work
- Author quality documentation related to the role responsibilities
- Take accountability for actions and tasks within the Technical Services Team
- Working well under pressure
- Displaying sound judgement and initiative
- Working both independently and as part of a team
- Good verbal and written communication
- Being flexible in terms of time management and can adapt to the needs of the business
Essential attributes:
- A degree in Life Sciences
- Experience in an accredited laboratory
- Knowledge of DNA extraction, DNA quantification, ELISA and/or ABO
- Experience of troubleshooting and offering solutions to issues
- Ability to prioritise workload to keep up with a fast‑moving environment
- Critical thinking skills
