We are looking for a Laboratory Scientist to join our Technical Service team.

Salary: £32,826 per annum

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 35 per week (standard Anthony Nolan working hours)

Location: Fully site‑based, Anthony Nolan Histocompatibility Laboratories, Hampstead - London

Key responsibilities:

  • Effectively prioritising your workload
  • Troubleshooting of processes and suggestions for improvement
  • Efficiently performing techniques and responsibilities to a high standard
  • Adhering to standard laboratory practices
  • Being open to feedback and a driver of positive change
  • Perform verification/validation work
  • Author quality documentation related to the role responsibilities
  • Take accountability for actions and tasks within the Technical Services Team
  • Working well under pressure
  • Displaying sound judgement and initiative
  • Working both independently and as part of a team
  • Good verbal and written communication
  • Being flexible in terms of time management and can adapt to the needs of the business

Essential attributes:

  • A degree in Life Sciences
  • Experience in an accredited laboratory
  • Knowledge of DNA extraction, DNA quantification, ELISA and/or ABO
  • Experience of troubleshooting and offering solutions to issues
  • Ability to prioritise workload to keep up with a fast‑moving environment
  • Critical thinking skills
