Are you an experienced Legal Secretary who thrives in a fast-paced Residential Property team? Do you enjoy being at the heart of transactions, keeping everything organised, and making a real difference to both clients and colleagues? We’re looking for a proactive, highly organised Residential Property Legal Secretary to support our clients Partner and Head of Residential Property, as well as the wider team, in delivering an exceptional service to their clients. This is a key role within a busy, friendly practice area where your experience, efficiency and attention to detail will be genuinely valued.
Please note: This is not an entry-level or graduate role. We are seeking candidates with previous legal secretarial experience, ideally within Residential Property/Conveyancing. It is not suitable for law graduates without practical secretarial experience.
What you’ll be doing
- Providing full secretarial and administrative support to the Partner and Residential Property team
- Supporting residential conveyancing matters including sales, purchases, freehold and leasehold transactions, and mortgages
- Liaising confidently with clients, estate agents, lenders and third parties
- Preparing and typing a wide range of legal documents with speed and accuracy
- Managing files in line with firm and Law Society procedures
- Organising workloads, coordinating diaries and assisting team members with priorities
- Handling calls, messages and correspondence professionally and efficiently
- Attending team meetings and contributing to a collaborative team environment
What we’re looking for
- Previous Legal Secretary experience is essential (Residential Property/Conveyancing preferred)
- Relevant secretarial qualifications and/or demonstrable experience
- Excellent IT skills and confident use of case management systems
- Strong typing skills with high accuracy and attention to detail
- Professional, friendly and confident communication style
- Highly organised with the ability to juggle multiple tasks
- A proactive, “hands‑on” approach and willingness to support the wider team
- Flexible, adaptable and a strong team player
- Discretion and professionalism when handling confidential information
