Researching ease of manufacture, availability of materials and equipment, interchangeability, strength-weight efficiency, etc. and preparing cost studies for assigned components. Using Computer-Aided-Design/Engineering (CAD/CAE) software during the conceptual design process. Identifying design errors, omissions, and other deficiencies, and recommending revisions and/or improvements in design layout to engineers or designers. A Support 2 requires basic knowledge of job procedures and tools obtained through work experience and may require vocational or technical education.
