The Firm
We are recruiting for a paralegal to join the Probate, Trust and Private Client team. You will play a crucial role in supporting a small but well-established, specialised, Tier 1 legal directory team handling varied and complex files.
The Role
- Assist in all aspects of a busy and interesting caseload to include:
- Taking new enquiries and communicating directly with the client
- Drafting Lasting powers of attorney
- Drafting straightforward wills
- Assisting with the administration of estates
- Preparing estate accounts (Excel)
- Following up on documents and information needed for estate accounts
You will also be required to:
- Assist where requested with the provision of legal advice to clients, under supervision.
- Delegate and supervise tasks where appropriate.
- Work as part of a team under the supervision of a firm partner.
- Provide an efficient and friendly service to our clients.
- Manage professionally and confidentially, written and telephone correspondence with clients, other solicitors and third parties.
- Maintain client care standards as set out in the firm’s terms of business and office manual.
Person Specification
- Must demonstrate a mature and empathetic approach to clients who may be dealing with a difficult and stressful process.
- Must be well organised, use initiative, prioritise appropriately, show attention to detail, manage your own workload and meet deadlines.
- Must demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills (be respectful, positive, articulate, professional and sympathetic).
- Must adopt a “can-do” approach, show commercial awareness and represent the department and firm appropriately.
- Must be reliable, show commitment and be a supportive team player.
- Must reflect the firm’s culture in your presentation internally and externally.
- Must demonstrate proficiency with case management systems and standard office software.
- Experience with a case management system is required.

- A law degree, or equivalent experience in a legal environment, is preferred.
